This September, we enter the sixth year of the Chelsea Schubert Festival, a festival of classical chamber music and
song, founded and based at Holy Trinity Sloane Street. From the 12th – 19th September, the 'Cathedral of the Arts and Crafts Movement’
will host an extensive programme of recitals, theatrical events, lectures, and exhibitions, celebrating the music of Schubert.
The Festival has continued to grow year by year, and the 2009 Festival received outstanding reviews in the press as
well as features on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM. Last year's Festival drew thousands of people from the local area and around the UK
showing that it has become an established part of the late summer London music season.
Through its amalgamation with the Holy Trinity ‘Arts and Crafts Guild’ we are looking to introduce some new initiatives with
the introduction of the ‘Schubert Song Competition’ as well as regular concerts throughout the year. The Rector, committee and
congregation are thrilled with the continued growth of the Festival, and for what it brings to the local community.
