Become a friend of the Festival

The festival has grown from strength to strength and attracts musicians from across the UK and Europe. The most successful festivals are about celebrating great music as well as bringing great performers to the locality. Chelsea offers a perfect surrounding for our contribution to the cultural landscape of this great cosmopolitan ‘world city’.

This year will certainly be a turning point for the festival. Support for the festival has grown and is attracting widespread attention. We have now gained the support of the Austrian and German Embassies as well support from the Concordia Foundation and the Association of English Speakers.

Looking ahead to 2009 we are planning to launch the Schubert Lieder Song Competition, setup sister festivals particularly in less privileged areas, and scholarships for young musicians. We are also trying to resurrect the old choir school in Sloane Street and generate funding to give singing, piano and organ lessons to the children at Holy Trinity School.

The Chelsea Schubert Festival Friends Scheme is one of the main ways of keeping in touch and supporting the festival. The benefits include:
